GOLDEN OYSTER MUSHROOM GROW KIT – SIZE M

This medium-sized Golden Oyster Mushroom Kit is perfect for intermediate growers looking to refine their skills while cultivating gourmet mushrooms at home.

Golden oyster mushrooms offer more than just ease of growth—they’re known for their delicate flavor, striking golden hue, and rewarding yields. With the right care, they can begin to fruit within 5 to 9 days after setup, providing an engaging and satisfying experience for those familiar with mushroom cultivation.

These mushrooms are highly versatile, with a mild, slightly nutty flavor and tender texture that enhances any dish. The compact kit fits comfortably in smaller spaces like kitchen counters, while the sturdy, protective packaging ensures safe handling and long-lasting freshness, allowing for a seamless growing experience tailored for the more experienced user.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR GOLDEN OYSTER MUSHROOM KIT?

With consistent humidity, moderate temperature control, and proper attention, you can expect your kit to produce sizeable mushroom flushes:

  • Misting: Keep the block moist by misting with water 2 to 3 times a day. Ensure consistent moisture without over-saturating the substrate.
  • Temperature: Maintain a steady environment at 18-24°C for optimal growth. Be mindful of sudden temperature changes and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Multiple harvests: With proper care, your kit may produce up to four harvest cycles, extending your growing experience and yield of mushrooms.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

  • Nutrient-enriched, fully colonized block: A substrate of hardwood sawdust, wheat bran, and water, pre-colonized with mycelium. No inoculation is needed; ready for mushroom cultivation.
  • Humidity bag: The block is housed in a humidity-retaining bag, crucial for maintaining moisture and preventing contamination.
  • Durable box: Designed for durability and convenience, this compact box not only secures the kit but also adds a rustic aesthetic to your setup.

UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Open the front flap of the box carefully.
  • Cut a “+” or “X” into the plastic bag covering the sawdust block to allow room for mushroom growth.
  • Mist the exposed surface with water 2 to 3 times daily to maintain ideal moisture levels and encourage fruiting.

Note: If you observe a soft, white, mold-like layer on the block, don’t worry—this is a sign of healthy, active mycelium, which is essential for the growth of your mushrooms.

CARE TIPS:

  • Maintain humidity: Ensure consistent moisture without overwatering. The block should feel slightly moist but not soaked to avoid any risk of rot or contamination.
  • Optimizing multiple harvests: If cared for properly, your kit can continue producing mushrooms over several weeks, rewarding you with multiple flushes.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • At room temperature: For up to 2 weeks.
  • In the refrigerator (4-6°C): For up to 1 month.

Be aware that extended storage may result in premature mushroom sprouting within the packaging, which could reduce future yields slightly.

This Golden oyster mushroom grow kit is designed for the intermediately experienced grower.

Each kit is lovingly produced on a small, family-run farm in the scenic Kaunas district of Lithuania.

What’s in the UNGU box?

Inside, you’ll find a pre-colonized substrate block, a humidity bag, and a short growing guide. It’s all packed conveniently and ready for your first harvest.

How to open it properly?

Tear open the box lid where marked. Then, using a clean knife, cut an X-shape into the plastic packaging at the same spot. The block is ready to grow – keep it in the same position as in the box.

Care tips

Mist the block with clean water 2–3 times per day. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts – mushrooms prefer a cool, bright, and humid environment.

Storage tips

If you’re not ready to start growing yet, keep the kit in the fridge (+1 to +5 °C) for up to one month. Important: do not remove it from the bag and store it horizontally.
